- The thing that surprised me the most on Elon Musk's life is how he was brought up in a troubled upbringing in South Africa, but his decision to fly over to the USA lead to some of the greatest technological achievements seen in history. The thing I admire most about Elon Musk is his vision, his ideas and vision's are so much greater then most peoples, and he has the dedication and guts to pursue this extremely out there ideas. The thing you could say I least admire about Elon Musk was that he was so ambitious that he did anything to reach success. Elon musk encountered great forms of adversity, like his troubled upbringing in South Africa, Space X mission's failing or his economic companies going bankrupt. What differentiated him, and made him into one of Histories geniuse's was his ability to overcome these problems. Musk pushed through, and conseveered througheveryone one of his shortfalls, eventually coming back with better ideas, modules and companies that succeeded. The greatest competencies that Musk showed would be his resolution, dedication ,ambition, vision, and determination, in his ultimate quest to success. Musk's vision made his ideas bigger then anyone else's, his resolution made him see new solutions to his failures and his dedication lead to him prioritizing his goal and working for it. The only part of the reading that confused me was the celebrities interviewing about him ,although social figures in todays world, their opinion still seems unimportant. While the information from interviews from scientist, and other entrepreneurs, on Musk's life shed light on his Life, the interviews with celebrities confused me because of there relevance. If I could ask Elon Musk two things, they would be: 1. what is the most important quality you must have to be succesful is? and 2. What is single hardest thing you have overcome in you life, and how did you do it? I believe Elon musk opinion on hard work, would be that without hard work and dedication, you will accomplish nothing of importance. I share what I believe to be his opinion and also believe that you must have hard work to accomplish you'r goals.
I think it is really interesting to see some of the most successful people come from very difficult conditions but manage to build their way to the top. I find it really interesting how Elon was able to get himself out of South Africa and into the United States. Not to bash South Africa, but the United States is probably better living conditions. How was Elon able to get the funds to come to the United States?
ReplyDeleteI also read this piece and came up with very similar conclusions that you came up with. I honeslty did not even think about his troubled up bringing in South Africa, however, when discussing adversity that he had to overcome. I just felt that was really early on in his life and his entire family overcame it together. Also, I also agree that he had to overcome the hardships of Space X failing its initial launch, that must have been a hard pill to swallow.
