1. Failure
- During the begging of the semester , I decided to try to rush a fraternity. I thought I wanted to rush sigma chi, or SAE, where most of my friends from high school went too. During rush week , I visited both of these places, but day 4 of 5 came and I had no bid. I realized I didn't really fit in and decided to try out a new place , so I checked out Phi Delta Theta after getting walked out of SAE and Sigma Chi. I was devastated at first , but then I went to Phi Delta. I fell involve with it and the rest is history.
- Rush week had me doubting my whole personality, my life, had me doubting myself as if I wasn't good enough. However, I am now a hundred percent sure I am where I was suppose to be. The brotherhood and friends I have made here will last a lifetime, and I realized that was Gods plan the whole time.
- To be completely honest, I believe that without failure , success is not an option. This class and this year has completely made me realize that without failure, you can not success. I now realize risks must be taken in order to success.
Hey I completely understand how hard rush can be for you both mentally and physically and completely understand that it can have you doubting yourself in multiple ways about where you fit in. It is a great thing that you decided to stick with it however, and that you have found the place that you are supposed to be in. This is a great example of taking "failure" and turning into something positive.
ReplyDeleteI know the uncertainty of being accepted into a fraternity can be stressful. I remember when I rushed all the emotions of excitement and anxiety turned into such a storm of thoughts and doubts about your every move. But I hope you found a supportive group that'll hold you up to be a great person.
